Side-events
On 24 May 2023, the first side event of the Medienforum Mittweida 2023, the MFMW - Cine Night, took place at the Filmbühne Mittweida. The pilot episode of Stark Fitness and the short documentary CHEMKIDS were shown.
Stark Fitness is a mockumentary format produced by media management students Josèphine Heidel, Louis Kaiser and Maximilian Junghanß from Mittweida University of Applied Sciences. The pilot episode takes place in a fitness studio, where the new employee Alex, not only gets to know his colleagues and his boss Dieter, but also learns about the company's financial problems.
The short documentary CHEMKIDS was made by Julius Gintaras Blum together with other students of the Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg and focuses on the coexistence of different generations in the former industrial metropolis Chemnitz.
Afterwards, our visitors had the opportunity to get in touch with the screenwriters and directors of Stark Fitness, Josèphine Heidel and Louis Kaiser, as well as with the director of CHEMKIDS, Julius Gintaras Blum. They talked about the development of their projects and answered questions in a Meet & Greet.

In addition to the informative lectures, the Cosmo Club was also on site, where students could guess the corresponding countries from a variety of different flags.
In the short break between the presentations, all visitors were able to put their knowledge of the countries of the evening to the test. Many had great fun and participated actively in answering the questions.
Afterwards, the students had the opportunity to ask the speakers their questions. Among other things, they answered how to get a student visa for the USA and how much money is needed.

To answer these and other questions, the third and also last side event "MFMW - WHAT'S NEXT?" of Medienforum Mittweida 2023 took place on 26 October 2023 in the Herbert E. Graus Studio of the Zentrum für Medien und Soziale Arbeit at Mittweida University of Applied Sciences. At this event, we looked back 10 years and learned from four media graduates of the Mittweida University of Applied Sciences all about their very personal path after graduation.
Our speakers Sina-Lauren Schäfer, Brand Manager at Mast-Jägermeister Deutschland GmbH, Ines Göbel, freelance assistant director, Pascal Schröder, director and CEO at Gipfelstürmer Film and Maximilian Embert, Co-Founder at von Fred talked about the challenges they overcame as well as the opportunities that have already opened up for them. They also shared valuable tips and tricks and answered open questions in the Q&A afterwards from the audience on site and from the livestream.
