You will compete in teams of up to six participants and have 72 hours to produce a short film. Your film must not exceed 100 seconds in length. For the production, each team will be provided with a Sony FX2 camera kit.
The challenge: You will compete against seven other teams—and only one team will take home the victory!
As the number of places is limited, we unfortunately cannot accommodate every team. You will be notified by email on October 22 whether your team has been selected to participate.

On October 29, all selected teams will take part in a Sony FX2 workshop from 3:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Later that evening, at 7:00 p.m., the theme for your short film will be revealed during “MFMW26: What’s Next?”.
The production period runs from October 30 to November 1, giving each team 72 hours to complete its film.
The premiere screening of all short films will take place on November 17 as part of Medienforum Mittweida 2026. The winning team will receive a trip to London to visit the Sony Virtual Stage at Pinewood Studios in January 2027.
